General Information
The sport of scuba diving is one that can be participated by almost everyone. The minimum age of training is 10 years and there is no max age.
You must obtain training before you can safely engage in the sport of scuba diving. The training is relatively inexpensive especially compared to the cost of other sports.
After you have received your initial training, you can scuba dive in any country in the world.
Most divers choose to travel to tropical destinations where the water is constantly warm. In these zones you can dive in magnificent colonies of coral which are beautiful beyond description. Scuba diving is very relaxing sport
.
This year promises to be a great year for improving current dive skills
and for newcomers to acquire the necessary skills to dive.
Below is a list of the dive instructors associated with the DDA. As
you will see, they offer varied levels of training and all come highly
recommended.
Currently our instructors offer qualifications from PADI, DAN, SSI, IANTD,
NAUI and IDEA. All level from Discover Scuba to Open Water Instructor
is available and includes a long list of specialty courses.

PADI Master Instructor/IDC Staff Instructor #600175, IANTD Advanced Nitrox Instructor #2796, IDEA Instructor Trainer #3466

The passion on scuba diving started back as teen age in a hometown Cape Bolinao (Philippines) using home made goggles carved from guava trees and glass glued w/ asphalt and fins made of flywood.
The first opportunity to use SCUBA equipment was in 1986 in Saudi Aramco w/ DDA pioneer Instructors Mike Jones and Dick Schneider (my big thanks to them). From then I continued my training and master the skills of different forms of diving.
The locally known Fleur Reef of Half Moon Bay was where I did my first dive and still is my favorite place to take students for their first open water dives, and now also a training venue for my technical and Instructor courses.
So far, I could proudly say that I‘ve issued close to 750 certifications and 10 students became Instructors as well.
I do most of my fun dives during my repatriation leave to the Philippines.
There are so many world class dive destinations and variety of diving specialties from shallow reefs comparable to the Red Sea to Spanish Galleon and World War II US/Japan wrecks. My favorite destinations which I recommend you to check out are Batangas (known as Macro-Photography capital of the world). Cebu and Bohol Islands these places has something for everyone and offers good topside tours of historical significance (e.g. first Spanish-Filipino Blood compact) and nature’s wonders (Chocolate hills).
For technical diving check out Coron/Palawan Island, Puerto Gallera of Mindoro Island and more…
Accommodations ranges depending on budget. To me I got the cheapest and spend extra for mosquito repellants! By the way the above locations are safe!

upgraded his diver education. He is currently pursuing the DSAT Tec
Rec and DSAT Trimix Diving Instructor programs.

Moon Bay. Dive trips are usually a full day or weekend event.

PADI Instructor #628065
and EFR Instructor
I have been an active diver for many years and a member of the DDA for over 5 years since joining Aramco. I love diving, instructing and taking underwater photos in the Red Sea and other exotic locations around the world. I lived on Heron Island in the Great Barrier Reef while working for the University of Queensland for 1 year and that’s where my passion for diving really began by having a coral reef literally right on my back door. After this experience I completed my Geographical Science degree at the same University and took part in environmental research and tourism impact studies on the same island. I believe that educating people through diving is one of the best ways to protect our fragile reef systems for everyone to enjoy in the future.
As
a PADI Instructor I hope to introduce many others to the
exciting underwater world.
